*** Important ***
I am currently NOT offering Board and Train at this time. I recently relocated to my new home in Texas, and am still unpacking and getting all our stuff sorted out. I hope to be up and running soon, but I did not want to block out this portion of my page.
Board And Train
This is an all-inclusive comprehensive training program ranging from 2-4 weeks. All Programs will include socialization with other dogs, daily exercise, exposure to countless distractions, and training heavily focused on impulse control. Additionally, your dog will be taken to areas outside my house (the beach, parks, recreation trails) for "Proofing" behaviors that he/she has learned.
Proofing
Proofing is the final step in training your dog any new behavior. It involves practicing behaviors in a variety of situations with different levels of distraction. Failing to proof behaviors is the reason why your dog may perform behaviors well in your living room, but seems to forget all his training the minute you leave the house.
This is a very important step people neglect to do with their dog, which is why owners struggle with commands in places other than the house. Doing training with a "Board and Train" service, not only will I teach your dog whatever they need, I will proof the behaviors for you so you can enjoy spending just as much time with your dog outside, as well as inside of your home.

Program Guarantee
The behaviors that are taught and proofed in these Programs are goals for training. As much as I would love to guarantee that I can teach and proof all behaviors listed, it's just not realistic to guarantee behaviors on a living entity in this small of a time frame. What I can say is all behaviors will be near perfected if checked as "Proofed" and behaviors checked as "Taught" will in fact be taught. In addition, unforeseen circumstances can happen, such as bad weather, that can cause issues with proofing behaviors. For example, I can't proof "No Leash Pulling" if it has been raining for a week straight. Please respect and understand these guidelines, and I can assure you that I will proof and train as much as I possibly can do in the time allotted.
Follow Up Lessons
Depending on your package, you get a certain amount of free follow up sessions. The number of follow ups are equal to the amount of weeks your dog will be with me for training. Meaning, if you purchase a "3-Week Program", you will get 3 privates lessons either during the training process or after depending on what you would like to do. Additionally, when you pick up your dog, plan on spending an hour or two with me to go over everything your dog has learned, how to perform their commands, and what to do when you get home.
Reactive Dog Board And Train Options
If you are considering this service for your aggressive or reactive dog, and have not read my Behavior Modification page, please do so now as it explains potential training plans. Click here for the information.
For Board and Train dogs that are aggressive nearly the same goals and guidelines will be taught and proofed depending on your plan. However, different techniques may be used, and different priorities will be made. For instance, I probably will not heavily focus on "recall" or "stay" when I should be focusing my efforts on dog to dog distractions on walks, desensitization to other dogs, and counter-conditioning interactions.
To sum it up, your program will be slightly different than the typical dog seeking obedience. As a Certified Canine Behavior Consultant, I consider my specialty reactive dogs. Rest assured, your dog will be trained, and I will make a great deal of change to your dog whatever they are reacting negatively towards. There are solutions for you. Please contact me for help!

My House and Where I'm Located
I have a home in Bryan, TX with a medium/large fully fenced yard. While supervised, dogs may roam free in and out of my house playing as much as they please. My dogs are very friendly (an Australian Shepherd, Border Collie, and 2 playful Huskies) that love guests in the house as well. Because this is my business, I am almost always home, and will give your pets much more attention and exercise than a boarding facility. Because your dogs will be out all day, they will have the opportunity to play as much as they like with my dogs, go on walks, and even get to go on some hikes depending how free I am. Your dog will be in a much less of a stressful in an environment like he or she is used to, and will be treated just like my own dogs while in my home.
I DO use crates when I leave the house. If your dog is not crate trained, he/she will still more than likely be in a crate anyways while I leave unless they are completely trustworthy and good being left alone in a house. This is for safety for not only your dog, but for my belongings in my house. At times, they may be subject to being crated if I just cannot supervise them/if they're causing trouble (getting into things they're not supposed to or playing too rough and need a timeout). This is a very normal thing for most dog training, let alone basic dog care. Since I'm a dog trainer, I will help them through the process and make it as much of a positive experience as I can. Since your dog will be in a new environment, and a new house, I use crate training not only for structure, but this ensures everyone is safe and secure while I'm away and nothing gets destroyed or eaten mistakenly.
